Day 1:
Arrival in Almaty, Kazakhstan

Upon arrival at Almaty airport, you'll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Embark on a comprehensive city tour, immersing yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Almaty. Explore the bustling Green Bazaar, take in the sights of Panfilov Park, and visit the iconic Zenkov Cathedral. Pay respects at the Memorial of Glory and Eternal Flame. Ascend Kok-Tobe Hill for panoramic views of the city, and enjoy leisurely strolls through Kok-Tobe Park. Descend the hill on the famous Almaty Cableway. Return to your accommodations for a relaxing evening.

Day 2:
Almaty – Big Almaty Gorge – Almaty

Today's adventure takes you to the breathtaking Big Almaty Gorge, where the stunning Big Almaty Lake awaits. Marvel at the serene beauty of this glacial lake nestled amidst towering peaks. Explore the surrounding mountainous terrain and enjoy captivating views of the landscape. Return to your accommodations for overnight stay.

Day 3:
Charyn Canyon and Kol Sai & Kaindy Lakes

Early morning departure for Charyn Canyon, a journey of 220 km (3-4 hours). Spend time with a Picnic lunch and resting amidst the canyon's unique rock formations and vibrant colors. Continue to Kol Sai and Kaindy Lakes for more natural wonders, with overnight accommodation in a guest house in Sattyk village.

Day 4:
The Border Crossing

We'll journey to the Kazakh-Kyrgyz border at Kegen, where we'll transition to the lake-side city of Karakol. En route, we'll make stops at notable landmarks such as the Przhevalsky Museum, the Wooden Orthodox Church, and the Chinese-style Dungan Mosque. Kyrgyzstan's rich cultural diversity will be on display as we explore these sites, offering insights into the multi-ethnic tapestry of the region. In the evening, we'll have the unique opportunity to dine with a Uyghur or Dungan family, descendants of those who migrated from China to Karakol in 1869. Following our cultural exploration in Karakol, we'll retire for the night at the hotel.

Day 5:
Karakol city tour

We'll embark on a journey from Karakol to the picturesque Altyn Arashan valley aboard a robust Russian vehicle known as the UAZ. The road to the valley can be rugged, making the sturdy UAZ an ideal choice for our adventure. Upon arrival, we'll immerse ourselves in the serene beauty of Altyn Arashan, where we'll enjoy lunch at one of the guest houses and indulge in a relaxing soak in the rejuvenating hot springs. Afterward, we'll return to Karakol and spend the night at the hotel.

Day 6:
Scenic wonders, Issyk-Kul discovery, Eagle spectacle

We'll depart for Kochkor, tracing the Southern Shore of Issyk-Kul lake. Along our scenic route, we'll pause at Jeti Oguz Gorge, renowned for its legends of the "seven bulls" and the iconic Broken Heart Rock. Here, we'll embark on a brief hike amidst breathtaking natural scenery. Continuing our journey, we'll arrive in Kochkor, nestled along the picturesque southern shore of Issyk-Kul. En route, we'll make a stop in Bokonbaevo to witness an awe-inspiring eagle hunting show. Upon reaching Kochkor, we'll enjoy a delightful dinner hosted by a local Kyrgyz family. Finally, we'll retire for the night at a charming small hotel.

Day 7:
Nomadic Escape at Son-Kul Lake

After breakfast, we'll head to Son-Kul Lake, located at 2030 meters above sea level. Along the way, we'll stop by a felt carpet workshop in Kochkor and enjoy a delicious lunch. At Son-Kul, we'll experience nomadic life, with optional horseback riding and sightings of local wildlife like yaks and golden eagles. Our overnight stay will be in a yurt camp, where we'll dine under the stars amidst the picturesque landscape.

Day 8:
Homeward Journey: From Son-Kul to Bishkek

Morning Transfer to Bishkek (400 km). En route, enjoy lunch at the charming Apamdyn Kattamasy, renowned for its delicious homemade bread and intriguing backstory. Learn about its humble beginnings from an elderly woman who started selling bread and tea with milk, gaining fame for her delectable offerings at reasonable prices. Continuing our journey, we'll make a stop at the historic Burana Tower area, an ancient city with a minaret dating back to the 9th century. Though much has changed over time, the remnants of this once-thriving city offer a fascinating glimpse into the past. Arrive in Bishkek and overnight at the hotel.
